96 maxima starting issue

Two days ago, my starter went... I replace it to day with a duralast.. Car still wont start. Alternator is a year old, battery is 10 months old... Now I have power, when I attempt to start it, i can hear the start whine... What could it be? Ive searched, can't find anything, terminal & connections are good.. At this point tomorrow I may swap the start out to see if that does it... please help.

what happens when you turn the key? does it click or turn over or anything? i know this may not be the case but add a ground wire from the - battery post to a bolt on your tranny... an extra ground wire will never hurt you

Thanks bro, tried it.... But I took out the starter & saw there was excess shaft play took it back 2 autozone and got a new one. It seems to startup just fine now.... I may replace solenoid soon just as a precaution.
