CEL after valve cover gasket changes
CEL after valve cover gasket changes
after changing both valve cover gaskets i got these two codes
Idle Speed Control 0205
MAP/BARO SW Solenoid/Valve 1302
since it's a three day weekend i thought now would be the best time to address the issues, or at least learn more about them. from what i've read the first has to do with the IACV and the second is a part that's on the passenger side of the intake manifold. did a bit of searching but i can't find anyone that posted these codes after a gasket change (though it does make sense since both of these areas were touched)
anyways, if anyone has info on these codes or what i should to do isolate the issue, please post them! the CEL bugs me every time i drive

.Also make sure the one on the bottom of the throttle body is hooked up, easy to miss if you're going over the vac system with the full intake in place.

+1 I'd check for one (or more) of the smallest hoses being disconnected (make sure to look behind and under things). The one nearest the TPS is especially easy to miss if you're not looking for it... I should know

I would check specifically those two hoses, since they're out of view when everything is in place. And if you're getting a MAP/BARO code... check the solenoid by disconnecting it from the harness and checking the ohms using a tester. Most of the time, it will be bad, and could just have given up after doing the gasket replacement. But... if you didn't touch anywhere near that area, you shouldn't really have had a problem in the first place
but, check the ohms... (the term for it is currently blanking out in my mind, but I'll re-edit when I get the chance in the morning) and if it's good, just make sure that you did NOT switch the hoses from how they're configurated!
