Source of oil leak
Source of oil leak
I've had a moderate oil leak for a while. It seems to be coming from the area of the circled bolt: http://s397.photobucket.com/albums/p...0825marked.jpg
Questions:
1. What is the bolt that's circled?
2. What size is it? It's at least a 23mm, but I don't want to start buying sockets that I'll never use again without knowing the right size.
3. Is it a likely source of a leak? Does it have a gasket that can be replaced?

2. Get a 15/16 wrench for it.
3. Yes, it is a source of a leak. There are two copper washers that should be replaced.
We couldnt possibly know that without being there looking at it. It "could" be your problem. Could also be the hose itself, or pump seal, or low pressure hose clamp. probably a hose due to the rubber getting hard in the colder temps.
I know the size because I spent the lapor day weekend dismantling my upper oil pan and timing cover. I had to swap the pump because of a humming noise and I picked up those washers and a return hose from the dealer to go with it.
