heated steering wheel wiring (plug)
My car did not come with the heated steering/seat package. After I added the g35 heated sedan seats, I got a heated steering wheel, clock spring, and relay and wired it following the wiring diagram.
The wiring diagram shows the heated steering wheel run into the smart entrance control unit under the driver's dash. 2 of the wires go into slots in the plug that aren't already used and have no wires to splice into...
How do I get a metal end into that plug like the other wires have? Would I have to find a plug from a car that has it and re-wire everything? I don't think that sounds like a good idea.
If you need a picture of the plug I can take one.

you have to remove the plastic (usually white color) snap in piece. Most of the time these pieces go in from the outside (front) of the plug. Once that's removed, you need something thin (like a strong needle) and bend the plastic tabs away from the pins just far enough to release the pin while gently tugging on the wire from the back.

Hey, guys. I'm the one that just got the heated, electric black seats from Frank. There shouldn't be a problem with the electric, but I haven't taken anything apart in my car, yet. The deal is, I just want black leather and since I don't have heated seats now, I don't really care to go out of my way to plugin if it's going to become a huge project. Any photos of your work or further explanations would be a huge benefit. Did you use the OE center control box under the center console?

lol...yea deff not 3 years...ive had the steering wheel installed for about 1.5 years now and the seats for maybe 2 or 3. i didn't take pictures but I'm planning on adding some courtesy lights soon just made the wire harness, i'll try and come up with some kind of guide with pictures then.
-all the heated seat wires are there, the ones under the console are taped together and sort of hidden, i didn't take a picture at the time and its hard to recreate but there sort of near the e-brake and under a piece of black rubbery-foamlike square folded in half to attempt to hide it. one plug is blue the other is white. the car should be pre-wired for heated seats. mine was.
-The heated steering wheel is not wired. there is no harness. it took a couple of wiring diagrams but I might be able to describe it. it would give me a reason to clean wires up a bit but I may need some time to get that plug i can't seem to find.

the real name for this is a pin extraction/insertion tool.

rather expensive for plastic but if you think you'll need more than 3-4 I can send some your way for a small fee as these break all the time and we have **** loads.
Correction, the link I wrote are metal or copper, they won't break, at least not as much as the plastic ones I use.
Oh, but the advantage I have over these metal ones are that plastic can be used with more than just a few sizes, they bend, but that's why they tend to break.

Yes that's the tool, but as you can see there is a green and a red one, different sizings : 20-24 awg and 22-28 awg.
I'll try the plastic tools from work on some wiring I have here just to see if it's good and I'll let you know, could have some sent your way if you want some. I'll be sending some to my buyers to ease out with their wiring.

it would be nice if i could have a solid wire instead of spliced wires in some places. see if those plastic ones work and let me know. i might take you up on it if i can find a plug still.
