Altima Rear view mirror in a Maxima

Hi. Was wondering if anyone has tried this... I had my 2010 Maxima in the shop for a few things and the loaner was an Altima. The inside rear view mirror was in all ways I can tell identical to the one in the Max except it had the compass which is removed if you get the Nav in the Max (which I have)

Has anyone tried installing this mirror in the Max? I found one at a great price but don't want to drop the money if it has been tried and found to not work. The parts guy at the dealership was pretty cool about talking to me but wasn't sure.

Thanks!

Scott.

Mirrors are universal. You only need a battery, ground & ignition wire.

The backup camera is pretty sweet, my friend has it on her hyundai, I have to take a closer look, no idea where they mount the camera on the rear

It should fit as the instillation bracket's will all be the same, but if you were worried about it to much simply get one from an SV maxima. That will definitely fit and the wiring harness should be the same. I would imagine, but don't quote me on this, that nissan would make the wiring harness the same across a model to minimize build configurations. I know my wife's Grand Cherokee is this way.

Easy as pie. I did the same thing with my '11 Murano as I did not like the useless compass on the nav screen. Buy a mirror from a wrecking yard or eBay and swap it out. One torx screw holds it in and one electrical plug. Be sure to erase the garage opener codes on you old one before you sell it.

2young2retire - Do you know if I can put a SV (homelink) mirror into my '11 S without having to rewire everything? Does it use the same electrical connection as the auto dim mirror?

Thanks

Thanks for all the info. Will be ordering a mirror tonight and will let everyone know the results of the swap. Hopefully it will be simple and work correctly.
