atf dexron 3 additive???

i did a full drain and fill, ( used a multi-atf dexron 3 fluid, valvoline ) and am a little concerned that i should've just done the front 4.8 and waited to see if she shifted better. i was wondering if there is an additive for the new fluid to help ease it into the trans, i only drove it like 12 miles since the exchange. lubegard or something else i can add?? seems to shift ok, i just dont want her to start slipping after a few thousand, i know the new fluid is kinda harsh and had no problems other then the random clunk 2nd into 3rd.

I have an MT but did my fluid change at Valvoline too. The valvoline ATF is synthethic and its good. Not sure if u can do better than that.

I've used Lucas products in the past and they worked well. I even used it on my uncle's older Taurus wagon and it bought back reverse for a while lol Reverse was completely gone at one point.

I wouldnt use lucas anymore in a trans unless its a last try before getting a new one, it inflates any rubber/gaskets and in the cold that stuff moves slower then molasses, in my first max it didnt do crap to the trans it actually made it worse in the cold. I dont use it in my engine anymore either it made my monte carlo engine knock like hell in the winter

To OP, I wouldn't add any of that grabage to my trans or engine for that matter fact, so called additives dont do crap imo if its not cleaning or lubricating what the heck can a fluid do to mechanical components, pull out a wrench and fix them . I dont know why you say new fluid is harsh if anything your trans is loving you right now so don't add anything you're fine, after I do a drain/fill I go out and drive my car as if I'm in a police chase

Plus you're an older guy man you're not supposed to believe in "additives" thats for naive young guys like me

Don't see your point here Or do you believe in negelcting/mistreating a vehicle before trading it in or selling it to someone else?

easy there young-un, hes right, i was looking at an i35 a few weeks back but decided to keep maxy cause of all the work and love i put into her.

and for once i agree with you, lucas products suck royal a$$. i tried the engine additive and it made maxy knock louder than hell and it was flushed out and new oil put in with bg moa the next day. only $hit i've trusted and its recommended by the dealer.

i get compliments every day from people walking by or in the park saying how nice maxy looks and how they wish their new and or used car could look that nice. i spend tons of time on the whole car and thats why i post up pics all the time cause its not just the paint but the car as a whole. if you guys saw all the products i used, your jaw would drop. my trunk is jammed all the time with cleaners and detail and wax and wheel finish etc.

i will say this, love your car and she'll love you back, troo story!!!

I've never had any problems with Lucas. I've used their fuel, tranny and oil addatives in all of my cars. A little goes a long way with that stuff. Even in the winter time, no problems.
