Paint Chipping off Rear Bumper

I was washing my car this weekend & noticed a small flake of white on my sponge. After nearly having a heart attack I found out that the paint flaked off the rear bumper where the bumper touches the wheel lip. The chip is inside the wheel well on both sides. It is maybe a little less than a 1/4" in diameter.

Has anyone else had this issue? I only have 1,300 miles on it so I think I might take it back to the dealer and see if they can do anything...

I will post some pics tonight when I get home!

If the bumper is rubbing/rubbed the rear fender panel then someone probably tamped you and pushed the bumper, check your panel gaps on both sides, and compare, cause even the crappiest pant jobs paint does not just flake off

That was the first thing that I looked at & I didn't notice anything out of the norm gap wise.... It almost looks like the corners of the bumper weren't cleaned properly before paint. It is almost bubbled in one area.

It may be possible that at some point in the manufacture between stamping and painting, the bumper was laid on the floor for a minute, and the points you are talking about might have touched some kind of lubricant on the floor that kept the paint from sticking to the bumper.

That would make sense! They are both on the exact same point on the rear bumper. It almost looks wrinkled below where the chip of paint came off. It is a small area but still anoying because its a new car. I'm affraid to have the dealer re-paint the bumper because it might not match the rest of the car since it is pearl white...
