Looking for an Exhaust for 97max... What should i go with?? Apexi or GReddy???????

Im looking to get an exhaust now that I have Intake, Y-pipe, Dual friction clutch, Rims, etc.. for my 97 maxima. I think that I want to go with an Apexi Exhaust? I want something that will give me as much HP as possible over the stock exhaust yet still sound relatively quiet. So... GReddy or Apexi?? Also, how much would I be looking at spending for the Apexi or the GReddy? And were can I buy them?

Thanks fellas...

I have a Greddy and it sounds great. Very deep tone, not loud @ all but definitly noticable. I think I paid $500-550.

Greddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why spend money here and there to complete your exhaust system? Get a Greddy it comes with catback, B pipe and the exhaust itself. It sounds good and it tucks as well.

Get the apexi if you plan on hearing your friends talk at certain speeds. The greddy has way to much drone!

Also I think this question gets asked like every 4 or 5 days, someone add it to the sticky please!

It all depends on what you want. I had the Apexi World Sport, and i hated it. Especially when i bought it when it first came out, paid 500 dollars for an exhaust that sounds exactly like the stock one i took off, so in other words i wouldnt recommend it if you want to hear where your money went. I would recommend though that you get an Apexi N1 muffler and have a custom muffler shop do your cat back. Its gonna be cheaper than getting a full exhaust, and less restriction like no resonator.I live in NYC and i dont think it should more expensive somewhere else to do that, so think about your options first.

lol...put a ypipe on there and see if you still like your N1. With a ypipe, the WS sounds just right. If you get the Greddy or a cheap universal exhaust with the ypipe, it will be too loud and drone a lot.

I just got the greddy, and a lot of people keep on complaining that it the greddy is too loud or it drones to the point where you can not even talk in the car. They emphasize too much hype. the greddy is a full cat back, no custom welding, and you can get it reasonably cheap. Plus if you are going to spend the money, (which you will) put it into quality, the greddy. Plus it will give the max hp than the others. it is only about 2-3 more hp but it is still higher. go to www.custommaxima.com. you can pick up almost everything for your car as far as exhausts.

exhaust

this is a matter of opinion.i have a greddy and i dont thinks its loud at all compaired to the other cheap exhaust available that sound like air planes.the greedy has a nice deep tone i love the sound but compared to stock of course it will be loud, but its not that bad. sometimes i dont think its loud enough.the greedy aslo has a nice stainless steel finish which is cool. so there you have it the choice is yours.

later. lenny

Re: exhaust

i was gonna get the greddy but decided to go with a universal muffler and have a shop do the catback piping i saved myself about $250 and i don't think the greddy would have made more performance than the custom job

You might want to change your mind about that one some universal mufflers dont sound right, if thats the case go with an apex its not loud but definitely sounds good. I got 3 friends with universal mufflers they dont sound right, I mean thats just my opinion

Guys he said he wants it to stay quiet and sound good. While greddy has a better sound i think , apex'i is still quite good and is much quieter then the Greddy , i have a Greddy, and i say you should go APEX if you dont want noise. However, a Greddy with Y pipe combo can be quieted down by a Random Tec high flow cat ,,, im going straight pipe when my Y gets here ,,, im going to store Asprin in the glove box
