HID light won't work

Ok so i got some Hid's a couple of months ago and they were working flawlessly then a month ago i was driving and all of a sudden they turned off, then turned back on, checked all of the wires and everything checked out ok.Worked fine again for a month then yesterday they did the same thing and again today, but today the bumper and corners don't turn on either just the fog lights, I checked the fuses and the were fine could it be the relay that gave out?? oh and did a search and didn't find anyone with the same prod..

thanks

Chris

Did you buy a cheap Ebay HID kit or an expensive nice HID kit?

Check your headlight fuses under the hood. Also check the tail light fuse under there. Also check the tail light and stop light fuses under the dash.

yea I had forgotten to check the headlight fuse that is connected to the lights, it was pretty corroded put a new one on and work perfect, also had blown the taillight fuse so only thing that was working were the fogs.. Is this a common thing for the fuses on the headlights??

I'm guessing you have a relay harness for your HIDs? If so, my fuse there was also corroded there recently. It happens.

Yea I have a relay harness. Cool thanks for the help. Also on a side note the car has been throwing a inefficient cool code, but the funny thing is it'll throw it at weird times. Could it be my thermostat is going out?

sometimes the relay on the relay harness goes bad, so if nothing works check the relay, you can replace the cheap chinese relay with a Bosch from RadioShack. Also check the fuse on the relay harness, it may have popped.

and for the occasional shut off, check the pins from the relay harness into the factory plug, often times they are lose and cause random issues like that. Also check the condition of all the pins and plugs, depending where the HIDs are mounted, water can quickly rust the connections on the ballast or other plugs.

I would suggest ditching the plug if its not 100% secure and pinning the pins directly into your factory harness, ofcourse then securing it properly and weather sealing it .

where did you get the HID kit from?
