Nissan Bulletins - What are they & what can we do with them??

So I’ve noticed lately that a member has found a few Nissan Bulletins that pertain to the "cracking/popping" roof, as well as the tilt steering wheel motor issues. I figured I would start this thread because my 09 has both of these problems. My question for you guys is, what will these bulletins do for me if I go into the dealership and present them? Free service? Free labor? What? The quotes below are pretty vague, so I wanted to see if you all knew more.

I just had my 09 Max fixed via this service bulletin. Write it down and take it to the dealer...enjoy!

Oh, and the moon roof cracking problem was also fixed on my car (that sound drove me NUTS for years!). Moon roof cracking/creaking problem is Service Bulletin NTB09-132
Thanks gentlemen

Generally a service bulletin or TSB is developed when there are numerous complaints about one specific issue and how to go about fixing it. Dealers and mechanics have access to these bulletins and help mechanics trouble shoot common problems.

It's different from a recall, more like specific instructions to deal with a common problem. I wonder if TSB's have the potential to become recalls if enough people have the issue.

Recalls are generally only issued if there is a direct safety concern. I have yet to see a voluntary recall fixing a poor design.

As far as the TSB's and warranties, one has nothing to do with the other. If you have a factory warranty and the item is covered then bravo... if not its just like any other repair just point the mechanic in the right direction.

My 08 Armada had a very odd popping noise coming from the front driver side under flex. Brought it to the dealer several times to no avail. I researched the TSB's myself and saw one with the same symptoms, dropped the truck off and told them to look into the body mounts even though nobody believed it could be them. Sure enough it was a body mount. Even with the TSB's not all mechanics follow through with them or research them enough. They just change crap and you keep coming back... I dont have the time to keep running back and forth so I do alot of the research myself.
