Well, I've done a few mods and I've been pretty happy. A week ago, i put in a Greddy SP Catback Exhaust. I alreaddy have a Y-pipe. Whoa, it was way too noisy for me. Low frequency drone sometimes that would make your head pound. Sounded good when I got on it, but otherwise too loud. Maybe I'm getting to old. Well, it lasted 24 hours and I took it out and put back the stock. Now I can hear the stereo.
Very expensive mistake. Anyone contemplating this combo, should hear it first.

 

i've heard that adding a high flow cat helps with the drone.

 

Sound cLIps ? i have a greddy , im putting on a Budget Y and a straight pipe (no cat) soon (as soon as the Y gets here from UPS)

 

the GReddy cat back exhaust replaces the Y and B pipe correct?

 

anybody here would have told you that before you got it. And why would you pay double compared to the apexi WS for something that is worst.

 

no , just cat back ,,, the Y pipe is what goes from the headers to the cat ... Greddy does not replace the Y ... just the B and the muffler

Well, it appears that in the Org, you have to take everyones opinion with a grain of salt. I've read opinions on certain mods and found them to be totally differnt, so listening to someones opinion didn't really hold alot of weight. Why do you consider the Greddy worse? The workmanship was top notch and the parts fit perfectly.

Why would I pay double?, well, it wasn't double and more importantly, they don't have a listing for 98 cars. So that is why.

 

Greddy Is EXTREMELY high quality... you can resell a used greddy for almost as much as an APEX'i. I bought mine for 300 used. and its still perfect. *knock on wood*

 

Has anyone heard about the Cattman Cat back exhaust? What is it sounding like?

 

I've heard it was still under development. Another reason why I went to Greddy, but the release date was supposed to be sometime in January. If you email Brian at Cattman, he'll let you know.

I have the Greddy cat-back with the Stillen Y and Random Tech cat and it is very loud. My rear view mirror shakes when I am around 2500 rpm's. I love it...anyone in NJ is welcome to meet me to hear it.

another red max with a greddy would be a nice thing to have ..althogh i may have to sell/trade big red ...... i want a 5 speed

Stillen catback doesn't even come with a resonator in the b-pipe.

yes color does matter if its red, not many around here have them, so we cant lose any, and i guess everything points to me having the fastest max from the factory having a red 95 GXE! so ha

yeha ... black is also equally (maybe a little less) amazing color. its weird , all of my friends either have a black or red car... we all went out racing one night like 3 weeks ago , and i just realized it tonight ,,, im a little slow
