Installing clear markers, have a question about sealing.

Is there any special kind of silicone to use around the lenses?
I just picked up some GE Household Glue 100% Silicone (clear).

I used silicon sealant on mine. I think it was 3M I threw the bottle away along time ago. My Ooglie clears don't have any moisture in them.

I used basically the same stuff. It's the GE household silicone sealant ( not the glue ). I don't think we'll have any problems. It' not like we drive underwater or anything...

I just did mine today. I had a sh*tload of condensation built up in the rear ones. I baked them at 150 for about 6 hours in my toaster oven and all the moisture is gone.

I got the sealant from Petco, a pet supply store. They use it to seal aquariums. It's a gluey substance.

I installed them and it seems the back ones don't fit as tight
as the front. They look nice though with the amber and red bulbs.
The red bulbs could be darker (Polarg M-21's).

Why do you people seal your clear corners? I have not sealed mine since I got them and still see no sign of moisture or anything. If anything, it rattles like a **** with the two TEN inch subs back there, and once already the damn clear corner actually popped out beause of the bass.

Yeah, I really did bake them. The plastic just got warm, not even close to melting. (Just add a little salt and bam...)

I tried the hairdrier approach but I just didn't have the patience for that.

I also got the M-21s and was a little dissapointed with the color. It looks pink and doesn't really match the taillights. I've been looking for a darker red but I haven't really found anything.

The instructions on Russ's sight mentioned it. I didn't want to take a chance. Specially, since it was an easy preventive thing to do.

BTW, I think your car in your sig looks really nice. Something about them rims & clear corners...

Yeah I sealed mine and they are now starting to do this. I heard someone "baked" their to remove the water. I am going to get the water out and then reseal....not sure how it got in there but I am suspecting the drain tube.....

Just goto Autozone or Checker's, whatever you have. Grab a tube of Silicone all purpose sealent. It's maybe $3 or $4. Just ask the guy at the counter if you have the right thing if you're worried, guarenteed you will.
