Have you been to the track?

I don't know about the Si... you should run like what, 15.8 or so in the 1/4 stock??? An AUTO maxima stock can do 15.6.. (deezo ) a 5 spd manual maxima is in the high 14s.... So you do the math I don't know what kind of gains headers give on 4 cyl cars like yours... I think you will definately take an automatic stock max in the 1/4 mile... I don't know about the 5spd though... a 5 spd with similar mods will probably take you....

(again, i really do not have an idea on how Civics react to mods and how what they run with similar mods..)

You'd take a bare-bones auto....A modded auto (w/ the bolt-ons) would beat you....A 5-spd Would beat you.....And Forced Inudction would beat you...

Race, Because it's fun even when you lose.

You beat a tacome by only a car length ?? Was it supercharged and 5spd ? Was it a grey one?? If not, you should not be happy, rather mad that you beat it by only a mere car length.

BTW, Conan O' Brian RULES!

On Dec 9 I took my car to the track for the first time and none of the Honda boyz would dare to line up against me, seriouly I had to line up against my friends 2000 GT every time oooh well I even try to pick a race with a Honda V6 and no luck , ooh well no biggie, I did race a civic si with intake and exhaust and yes it was 5 speed, I walked him and I was only in 2nd gear, the owner is one of my good working buddies. Well that should answer your question. Now go to work and invest in a greddy Turbo and then come back with numbers and/or take it the track and smoke some Nissan Azz if you can...Good luck guy

it's all depends on the driver and the car

I have seen Civic Si with usual bolt ons run as fast as 14.7 and as slow as 16 flat.

I raced a the newer Civic Si >>>>>

he had the AEM cold air intake, and Mugen exhaust, we raced twice from a stop light and I have an 95 SE Auto, at the time I raced him my car had a bad O2 sensor with the check engine light, stock ECU, and just an Intake filter, we raced twice and by 80 mph I was about 4 car lengths ahead. We stoped after the race and he never thought the Maxima's were that fast and thought he could take me, I told him he would have lost even further if my car was running well, showed him my check engine light and the new O2 sensor I just bought and was on my way home to install. he said that next time he would have to get the Jackson Racing SC and then we can race, I said sure, got to make sure I have the Stillen SC too. He was a cool guy and said he had new found respect for the Maxima now.

The Tacoma wasn't stock. Don't know what all he had under the hood, but he was NOT stock. I take stock tacomas by 4 or 6 car lengths.

*Shudder* 1 C/L for a stock tacoma? Maybe in a Civic SI , but not a maxima!

Unless you have major stuff done to the SI, have nitrous, turbo, or supercharged, you will not beat most the Maximas out there. Unless those Maximas are stock or near stock, especially auto Maximas. I have to say most people highly underestimate Maximas in general. We still don't get much respect out there.

On the cold a$$ night I ran my 15.2, I ran against an I/H/E Civic Si twice in a row. He he couldnt break 15.8 and I beat him with a 15.35 and a 15.29...

I've only ever been beaten by a Civic once. It was an older CRX that totally raped me. He must have had some kind of forced induction or NOS. I mean he just left me like no tomorrow...

Why do you call BS on this ??? Remember at about 80 mph you are at about 3/4 of a 1/4 mile track length and speed, and please do remember that universally accepted thing at 1/4 mile racing is that for every car length it is a tenth of a sec. so beating that Civic Si by 4 car lenghts is nothing new.:

Civic SI's are so fast.. they get toasted by Subaru 2.5 RS's .. non-modded RS's .. you know the non-turbo RS

once again.. the civic SI can never lose http://racevideos.faction-zero.net/s.../rs25vsSI.mpeg

wow, that was ugly

they started from a roll though, right?

Would results have been different if they lined up and went from a stop? I don't know how it goes exactly, No torque Civic = slow off the line? Yet they are a lot lighter....

still, that was like 253562355124 car lengths
