where to go for alarm istalled in maxima

wtf how can 3 shops and 5 people have no idea on how to install a alarm/remote start the right way,or want to charge you $1400 on labor to do it without the alarm/remote start.

Avoid Best Buy, Fry's Electronics, etc. Look for a higher end custom audio shop that will do it more carefully. There's a ton of complex wiring in new cars these days, and a simple mistake can cost thousands of dollars to fix.

Ha that's funny that is my next upgrade I plan on doing on the car and went to my buddy's shop and the best price for a remote start with the phone app. was $850. I talked to my other buddy who works for DIRECT and he told me there's a lot a lot of resistors that go into play and like 09MaximaSV said avoid those places and look for a place that has a big bond. I had one shop tell me nope sorry wont touch your car unless you sign a waiver same Guy told me his worker fried a new dodge truck which cost him an arm and a leg to repair. SO be careful. I'll be going with the Viper 5704 with the phone app which I might hold off on cause I just got word they might be coming out with an upgrade so I just might do the 5704 with the remote start and window roll down and up

I have the Viper 5704 and got it installed at a local sound shop in Chicago. Paid about $800 but they did an awesome job.

I just got the Viper 5704 installed in Delaware (at the PA border) at Sounds of TriState for 650.00. I've been going there for years for car stereo and alarms, always have excellent service. Installs have always been clean. If you go there, talk to Isaac.

i agree stay away from the chains and get it from a specific pro shop thats an authorized dealer/installer. i got a 5902 installed for $850 including a bunch of add-ons and that was one of the lowest quotes i got. its like $500 normally, but when they find out its push button start it goes way up cause it is a lot more complicated

Damn those are high prices! haha good thing my work is a Directed dealer and I know how to install!

And no, there is not a lot of resistors with this install. anyone that know what they are doing will not use a resistor at all.

The SmartStart update is just for the app on the phone. I don't see a new model product coming out. I could be wrong. I will contact my rep today to confirm for you.

I have the Viper 5901 (same as 5704) and with my module for the max it control the alarm from the factory fob, and the buttons on the doors, and I use my phone for the remote start. I don't carry the two-way pager at all.

i didnt get the smart start phone for it cause of all the bad reviews why spend money on something that only works 3/4 times i only kept the remote on the viper for its 1 mile range and it pagers you if the alarm goes off

Works everytime I use it. People give it bad reviews because they don't know how it works. It uses the cellular network for its service. Ever had a phone drop a call, or not send or receive a text? Same thing. You're phone isn't 100% percent reliable so the smart start isn't going to be full proof just yet.

But when your car isn't in range and your alarm goes off, what do you do then?? You won't get pages, but I phone will still receive the alert.

But it's to each his own....I don't want a bunch of keys and remotes on a key chain. Just one remote and 3 keys....that's it.

That's not a bad price at all!

that price was killer the guy does the alarms/remote starts for the nissan dealer and the Toyota dealer he did it as side work at the dealer cause i know the service manger he said that it was only $400 but i gave him a $100 tip because he did a great job and everyplace i went to wanted over $1100 to install the same thing so im happy about the outcome, got a question for you if i want to add some piezo sirens to the siren under the hood do i need relays.

Depends on how many u plan on running. I did zero sirens under the hood (no one pays attention to them) and only added two piezos inside the car.
