Just got the car and am in the process of changing engines as the original has 240k miles. I am showing the little trunk open icon on the dash. I have looked for the switch back there and cannot find it. Even looked in the fsm and didn't see anything about where it is mounted.

Can someone tell me where it is? Thanks.

 

It's inside the trunk latch itself. When the trunk is latched, the light shuts off....when you pop it, it turns on.

 

if it uses the same as a 00 then look for a plastic switch on the latch. Not the part on the trunk lid but the car itself. The trunk pushes the switch down when it closes thus taking off the light in the trunk
