Aftermarket Air (CAI?) in _very_ dusty environment

Hello All,

I am in the Middle East with my '02 Max, and thinking about this issue. It is very dusty here (Bahrain). It essentially rains dust from the sky a few months a year, so the idea of oiled filters outside of an airbox scares me.

Thoughts of aftermarket air systems that would be good in this dust?

/Cheers, JP

In that environment, I would stick with OEM intake and a good quality air filter.

It wouldn't be worth the 5hp for the aggravation of constantly cleaning a CAI filter.

A new building is being put up on my college campus, so I have to drive on sandy/dusty roads almost every day, and my short ram intake with AEM dryflow gets dirty quickly. I can't imagine how quick it would be in the conditions you're describing. If anything, I would do the GAB mod with a quality filter. A cone filter intake will get dirty too fast.

Thanks Guys, I will lookup GAB and stick pretty much with what I am doing.

Now to see if I can get exhaust shipped out here. :-)

If you got the $$, don't see why not. I've shipped Max parts to Russia.
