What's up guys, thought I'd start a thread about the retrofit I'm working on with my 5.5 headlights. I'm using mini h1 projectors in the high beams at the moment, going to pair them with the OEM ballasts with some 4300k bulbs.

Eventually I'm going to work towards a quad retro with more projectors in the low beam area too and I might work towards illuminating the vents on the shrouds too, should look pretty good as DRL's with my parking lights + switchbacks.







No pictures of the housings as yet, I still need to close them up after clearing the turn signal lenses and polishing them up a bit. Will post more with progress.

Are you using OEM or Depot/Ebay Projector headlights?

 

Haha yeah, Greg inspired me, always asking him for a couple of pointers with doing this. I has my fogs out since last July, I was working on a a Matchbox retro in there, but they were really meh :/. So I might look into a MH1 in there or just for the lulz I'll try a Blazer retro in there.

I'm using OEM headlights. One of my buddies sold his 02, so he gave me his headlights and I've been working with those. But for parts here's my list

• OEM Headlights
• Mini H1 Projectors for TRS
• Morimoto H1 4300 Bulbs (might upgrade to rebased Phillips later)
• OEM Ballasts
• D2S -> Amp Adapters so I can reuse the OEM ballasts
• VLED's 7443 Switchback LEDs

I'll keep adding pictures as I get closer to putting everything back together. Waiting on some nice weather in Western, NY
