Exhaust tip restore/detail (Cheap and Easy!!!)
Hey guys,
Here's a quick and cheap way to restore your rusted exhaust tip back to when it rolled off the manufacture line (or at least close to it).
Items you need (most of these stuff you can get from autozone or your local hardware store):

Spray the degreaser onto the tip and let it soak.

The whole project only costs me about 25 bucks and an hour of my time.

Here's a quick and cheap way to restore your rusted exhaust tip back to when it rolled off the manufacture line (or at least close to it).
Items you need (most of these stuff you can get from autozone or your local hardware store):
- Steel Wool (Grade 0 and 0000), you can find this in the paint section. 0000 is the finest grade while 0 is more coarse.
- Heavy duty degreaser.
- Metal polish or chrome polish.
- Rags

- Find an empty spray bottle and mix the heavy duty degreaser cleaner, I mixed my 1:1 as my exhaust tip is in pretty bad shape.
- Work on one exhaust tip at a time. Spray the tip generously with the mixed degreaser cleaner.
- Let the cleaner soaked for a couple minutes then wipe the tip off with a used rag.
- Apply the chrome polish solution on to the 0 steel wool pad and with a circular motion sand the tip. If the rust won't comes off you can try a coarser wool, try grade 1 or 2. Use force if the rust is stubborn.
- When most of the rust is removed, use the grade 0000 wool pad for a final sand. Remember to put some polish solution on it.
- Keep sanding it till you see the shine that you want.
- Wipe off the excess polish solution with a rag.
Spray the degreaser onto the tip and let it soak.

You can also repaint them with a Quality Black Heat-resistant black paint like I did in this remarkably similar thread....
