98 i30 3.5 5 speed

I finally got this car to the track. It was the first time I've ever ran down the 1/4 too.

I was hoping to get low 14s for my first time out and that's where I ended up. It was noob:30 trying to get a decent 60' and I was wheel hoppin all over.

Track prep:
Removed throw rugs, spare, and jack
Aired down the fronts to 25 psi

Mods:
Hybrid 3.5
VLSD 5 speed
Cattman headers and 2.5" cat back
SSIM
Q45 MAF
3.5" Intake
BPI flow stack
Heavyish 18s

PB so far:

60 - 2.291
1/4 - 14.121
mph - 102.65

I really want to get some DRs on this thing and just get better at launching.

(I'm 05)

Trap speed shows the car is making decent power. 3" exhaust and a tune will really wake it up.

+1 102mph is quite a good trap.

Like everyone else has said it looks like the car is making good power. IMO you could do better with your current set up if you let more air out of your tires. I would start at 20 and go down from there.

Very nice

but a 2.2 60 foot with a 102 trap should be a 13.8/.9 ...something wrong here

keep the foot on the gas lol

max713 on here ran a 14.0 @ 100 with a 2.3 60 foot

I take back my comment..lol. Actually you picked up 23 mph from the 1/8th to the 1/4..so you are making some nice power I would guess..

It's a tough call. If I did a 5 or 6 speed swap on the Bonnie it would be that car. I just don't really want to go through the trouble. It rides/handles better and is more comfortable than the i30 but makes less power to the wheels with more weight.

I guess I just enjoy driving both for different reasons.

The Bonnie is my baby though.

If I wanted to make more power with the Bonnie I would do a turbo build. Heaton m90s just aren't my thing.
I built a 98 3800 turbo Regal for a buddy and it's not something I want for my car.

There isn't a good build thread on it but here are some pics. Jeeve and his max are in there too.

That car just sits for the most part which is pretty lame. No dynos, no times. I told the dude I would help him install (more or less do it myself) a built trans for free if he bought one. He did, but we're both pretty tied up at the moment.
