Question about MAF/IACV/ECU in 2000 Manual Transmission
Question about MAF/IACV/ECU in 2000 Manual Transmission
I have previously gone through 3 IACVs, and I have started again stalling when, for example, I push in the clutch going at high speed and was slowing down.
So, per some of the org's posters, I replaced the MAF that I got from cheapnissanparts (or something similar, but it was genuine Nissan). I had the battery unplugged for a bit before I replaced the MAF.
I was hoping everything would work great when I started it, but I still have the same problem. The car is running great otherwise. I think that I got some power back although it hadn't really gotten bad before. I also replaced the battery to see if that would help since my battery had been 7 years old.
Am I correct that my ECU is OK as long as my car is starting and running? I don't think I should have a fried ECU because my car is M/T and so I don't have the active engine mounts?
Is it just that I need to get the idle relearn performed? Maybe I should just take it to the dealer to get that done, and maybe get the ECU programmed? I hate my dealer here, though.
I've got an OBD Bluetooth device from Amazon that is supposed to be here today, so I will be able to see what code the ECU is giving me.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

any error codes?
I got P0505 from my '01 SE 5sp, IACV was bad, and a chip on the ECU was fried. Car did run with the fried ECU.
I soldered a new chip to the ECU, replaced IACV and did the coolant bypass, car is good now.
