XXR 527 18x9.75 ~~~ too aggressive?!

so i have a 5.5gen and im wanting to get some wide wheels that will look great flushed. are the xxr 527 18x9.75 +20 gonna be too aggressive? like how much rubbing? any mods needed? too much for the front fenders(too much poke?)

any advice will help, thanks!

You'll be fine throw a 225-40-18 tire on

But to be honest no one will know for sure you'll have to play with it to get it how you like. Most people say "make the wheels fit" which goes back to what I said you'll have to play with it experiment.

THIS!! Front 18x8.75 +35 Rear 18x9.75 +20 Tires 245-40-18 all around

the rims will be fine, just be careful with the tire specs that you choose

Do it ... don't do it .... do what you want lol .. I happen not to like that style rim on maxima's.

But I have xxr 521's 18x10's all around and running 235/40's

+25 offset is the only offset for the 18x10 XXR 521

10mm is exactly what you will need if you want to match the front. the rear is 10mm less than the front.

They will fit fine but remember wide wheels only look good if you go LOW, that dark grey maxima pictured on the 2nd post in this thread is not nearly low enough thats why it doest look right. The cream colored max with the blue wheels has a more appropriate drop and as you can see it looks A LOT better.

I have 18x8.5" rims with a 245/40 on. I wish I had went a little wider on the rim and got 255/40 to have a bit more traction because of hte turbo....but the 245/40 grip pretty good. I seen a Maxima with 19's and 255/30 and they did not rub at all.

If i was you i would actually get skinnier tires so you can get some stretch going on, stay away from 255 or 245 or 235 tires. GO WITH 225 OR 215 FOR A 9 INCH WIDE WHEEL (its a safe stretch)

Stupid? that is you're opinion so i can't argue that but whoever told you its unsafe is lying to you. It CAN be unsafe but lets real here who would put a 195 or 205 tire on a 8.5 or 9 inch wide wheel? I have safely stretched tires on my daily driver for over 2 years now and i drive in all types of roads and environments and i don't drive like a grandma and i have had no issues and i get compliments all the type (18x9 wheels ALL AROUND wrapped in 225/40 Falken tires).

i didn't have a detailed pic of my car but here is a buddy of mine's honda accord his wheels are also 18x9 225/40 tires. This is a SAFE stretch and as you can see the fitment is head turning type of fitment.

This is the first I've heard of wheels coming in 0.75" width, thought it was only 0.5".

thats your opinion.. but if done correctly without ridiculous stretch and camber, it is perfectly safe. stretch and poke has always been a good taste of mine.

While I agree stretching can be dangerous. There are different variations of stretch. That S2K is not a dangerous stretch. Do you really think OP is going to track his car and do several 140+ MPH runs? No

hahaha thank you. very good point. +1 if i do the xxr 527's, im thinking a 225/40/18... as for the varrs, i gotta do a little more research..gonna make a stab though at about 235/40/18 should be fine

COMMENTS/POSSIBLITIES/SUGGESTIONS all welcome!

Staggered fitment gives it a RWD look when obviously our cars are FWD so id say get the SAME width all around and go with 225/40/18
