Gas smell when my heater is on and oil smell

HI all i am new to this forum. I have a 1995 nissan max i have noticed that wheni turn on my heater i smell a strong gas fume and also a oil smell. Now i do know that i have an oil leak, i recently moved from memphis tn back to ohio i drove my vehicle my mechanic told me that the oil looked to be commin from some area at like the top of the motor but as long as i wasnt loosing alot of oil i should be ok until i get it fixed, well im back home and havent been here in four years so i havent had any luck finding a mechanic. If any help is available please help lol because im lost. I had my fuel filter changed before i left i was thinking maybe thats where the smell could be comming from but im not sure

While car is running, inspect your injectors and hoses going to the fuel rail. Gas is leaking out on the engine and the heat is amplifying the smell.

When you open the hood and view the top of the engine where the wires are running, you will see three red injectors towards the front. There is another three under the intake if oyu look from the side, Just visually look to see if you see any of them wet or see a hose moist.

cross over hose on the passenger side of the motor...3/8 hose...i got the same problem except mine only does it when its under 30 degrees.....as for the oil leak....chances are its a valve cover gasket...or o ring on cam sensor on timing cover...aside from that if your lower engine is covered in oil and your tranny is as well its probably a rear main seal...hopefully not for your sake...

Cam sensor bolt is a 10mm head, once removed the sensor just pulls straight out. This should be the exact o-ring you need for the job. I recommend lightly lubricating the o-ring (I tend to use petroleum jelly) before reinstalling the sensor so that you don't run the risk of damaging it when you push the sensor in -- it will be a very tight fit.

i measured the o-ring i just took off the cam sensor and its just over 18mm id X just over 22mm od X just over 2mm thick widthwise & just under 3mm thick heightwise. it was not leaking and a bit flattened in width. from this, i think that maybe 17mmX22mmX2.5mm (or maybe even 18mmX23MMX2.5mm) may be a better choice.
