Interest in carbon fiber parts?

A good friend of mine owns a carbon fiber (Real carbon fiber) business. He & I have been friends for over 10 years.

We're both enthusiasts as well, of course. All supplies are sourced from the USA & all work is done in the USA (He is based in FL)

I'd be happy to become a vendor if there was enough interest.

I recently sent him several pieces from my Corvette that I should have back soon. Can't wait to get them in my car!

Here is a link to some of the work he has done:

Customer I just sold some E36 BMW door handles too has posted very pleased w/the product:

Thanks,
Tom

To the best of my knowledge, nobody makes an I35 CF hood. Would he be interested in a group buy?

Yes, he'd be interested in a group buy. You say this is not made for the Maxima? Do you have any photos of this hood?

Ryan needs to go ask on an I35 forum...

This is for people who drive REAL cars. Like Maximas.

Tom,

In all honesty, you'd be wasting your time and energy becoming a vendor here.

There's plenty of interest, but no real buyers here. You'd be catering to about 10-15 guys maximum. The rest are tire kickers.

Your best bet is to seek out a high value/dollar car forum.

Thanks for chiming in. We're all over the place. He's done parts for Lamborghini all the way to Chevrolet.

I'll never rule out a make/model if someone is buying, but of course we are here to make money not make parts that people just want to look at.

I know the Max/I35 have different hoods. If they were the same, I could've bought one of a couple brands already out there for the max.

My I35 needs one, and nobody on the market caters to I35 owners looking for a CF hood.

Im down for what Chrisman spoke about and I have always wanted a CF trunk lid for the '96. Id even settle for just a spolier. Are you gauging interest or actually have products already that could be ordered and made?

The CF trunklid already exists for around $550. I seriously doubt you're gonna beat that price anywhere.

They will be made to order. A trunk lid would require at least 5 committed buyers.

Q.F.T.

Not to mention someone else came to the forum with the same proposition (he was an org member himself) couple years ago. A radiator support was made and MAYBE one other thing, but nothing life shattering.

I kick tires... then i sell them.

How about some carbon fiber interior pieces... dash trim pieces, window switch trims, etc.

How does he price his products?

IIRC one was already made by a fellow member who tried starting the same type of endeavor.
