put jumper cables on backwards might of messed something up

put jumper cables on backwards might of messed something up

hey guys new to the game did a stupid guy move i wasn't paying attention and i put my jumper cables on backwards what could be messed up the car turns over but wont start the battery i have is from a infinity its a lil smaller but it works

I did that once long ago on my 96....blew the fusable link. If urs is turning over its not that though. Does it turn over strong or weak? Might wanna swap out for a good battery n start there.

Was your car the one that needed the jump? Start by checking EVERY fuse and don't forget the fuses under the hood.

thats what fuses are for. Most likely just a blown fuse(hopefully)

yea i kno i started checkin my fuses today i dont have a tester at the moment so i pulled out all of them one by one and did a visual the fusible links are fine the ones under the dash fine anything else i should check

jumpee.....i found 2 blown fuses in the relay box and 2 under the dash ima change them tommorow also picked up a test light from harbor freight for 4 bucks how do i know if the computer is fried

If you replace the battery and all the fuses are okay and it still won't start, computer is probably toast. You can find one in a junk yard swap it in and try starting it up. If it still doesn't fire up you can at least rule out the ecu and return the ecu to the yard for a refund.

its turning over smooth but just wont kick over. the ecu is under the center console right

it's near the floor directly below the dash. It's easiest to access it from the passenger side.

Pull that computer open the casing and look for burnt spots on the metal casing, also if it smells burnt it's no good. Get one from eBay.

ok so i droped a new battery in it changed mad fuses its started up ran i took it for a ride, drove fine ran it on and off a few days, haven't started it in 3 days now it wont start, turns over smooth, what you think it could be?

gotta get some one to my crib with a diagnostic test kit check engine light turned on when the new batt went in ima try and get some one local to give it a check
