Kinda new to the forum biz but in love with my 96 max. Curious though, looking to do some minor upgrades to the car (engine wise) an suggestions?

Anything and everything is available to you...just search

Upgrades...how? Hp? Sound?braking?looks? Handling? "Engine wise", I assume you mean power. Best bang for the buck for power is a Y pipe...search around. Then you can get headers, intake, anything else imaginable, including a VQ35 swap.

Y-pipe yes because the stocker is heavy and restrictive. Exhaust and intake? no, the stock intake is great(hopefully proven so soon and the stock Y-pipe back is not very restrictive for applications below 230hpish. Unless you want it for sound then don't waste your money on those because unless you are going to mod more intensely then you wont take advantage of more air in and greater exhaust efficiency. Depending on your budget and skills I would get the Y along with a K&N panel filter and basic maintenance. Good maintenance of your engine and the replacement of parts such as the knock sensor and MAF can restore lost horsepower that aftermarket items couldn't touch. Keep up with oil changes too and run a few bottle of fuel system cleaner through over the course of the next few months. GL with the best year 4th gen
