Rocker Cover Gasket Project

Getting ready to change the rocker cover gaskets on my 1999 nissan maxima. Anyone have any recommendations for a novice mechanic in terms of regular or liquid gasket? Also curious to know how I can keep track of wiring and valves when I get ready to do the rear gasket. Thanks for the help!

Take pictures and use masking tape on each wire to marke what it goes to...youre gonna need liquid gasket and a valve cover gssket kit....on the valve covers where to corners are is where youll need liquid gasket if not itll seep through

Label and remember where everything goes. Im assuming your new to this with the post you made.

Clean up all the old oil and sut around the valve covers make a clean contact for the valve cover gasket to sit on. I usually put a bead of RTV sealant ontop of the valve cover gasket before the valve cover goes on for extra support.

Use a RTV sealant that is heat resistant remember the valve covers do get hot after a while
