need wiring help with my headlights. melted socket pic

here's my current dilema

since the upgraded harness had to use the socket (which was melted in my case) i cut both off and plan to put the passanger side on on the driver side. my question is, do i just connect in order, or do i have to reverse the wires? also, b/c i don't have the socket on the other side, will that cause anything to go wrong? should i tape those wires up or should i connect the melted on over there? thanks for the help

not sure. I think it might have been the cheap pepboys headlights i got. They were probably too high of a wattage, so it melted the bulb to the socket, and totally messed up the socket.

sucks doesn't it?! i also ruined my hood struts by popping the damn hood so much. go here and buy the 9004 kit and then go here to install it. takes a while for them to process the order and then to ship. Probably 2 weeks or so. Which one of your sockets went bad?

lol. my maxima hates lights. i've been thru so many fog lights and headlights, and i have probably ten 1157 bulbs in the garage but your lucky your passanger side is bad and not the driver side. I had to replace the driver side with the passanger side one... But i wish i knew what to tell you about the corners. i still need clear corners

If the HB bulbs are overwattage ones (ie 80/100W)... you may be needing a new switch soon if you don't use relays or buy the kit...

Keep the wiring the same with the new replacement harnesses...

Yeah the bulb situation is really ****ing me off. I can not figure out why mycorner running lights do not work it is not the bulb thats the problem. Who knows where the problem is in the wiring. For my clear corners i noticed there was a crack where water was getting in and messed everything up. It was weird the whole assemply of the corner was filled with water, water could get in but not out. And bulbs are just not cheap, if you want a eye-pleasing color u have to pay $$

I had the same problem with my harness melting. I just went to NAPA and got a replacement 9004 fixture.($5) and wired it to the stock wires.

what do you mean? you had aftermarket hightwattage light bulbs? and what do you have to buy? and how do you wire it, and where to? cause i bided on the NOKYA blue bulbs and it's 80/100.

thanks,
Tae

re: harness

If you run anything-higher then factory wattage, then it’s going to melt the harness. My friends civic caught on fire cause of that. So when I replaced my bulbs I replace the harnesses 2. I'm running 80/100 on headlight and 100 for fog. But I don’t think the other len's matter. (Example corner lens doesn't matter wattage.)

I have the Nokya Arctic White blue bulbs and haven't had a problem with my stock harness/sockets. I think in the ebay ad, the guy says these bulbs don't burn out like other cheap brands. Maybe I'm just lucky...
