My Climate Control light up BLUE!

Well, after some experiments, many calculations, and working with my dad most of the day, I now have an auto climate control unit that lights up blue at night

here's a (not so great) pic:

I'll post more details tomorrow, as well as a write up. It's late now and I have to be up early, so I'm going to bed.

I will say that one reason I did this is because all the bulbs were burnt out anyway. I used 4 blue LEDs and a resistor (as well as some other misc. parts). Also, this was *much* more involved than the blue LEDs in the window switch mod (which I did the other day).

I don't understand why people think blue lights inside your car are cool but outside are ricey. Hondas do have blue lights ont he interior as well as on the exterior. So is blue ricey or not?

Ok..I'm up and around, so I'll try to get the writeup done as soon as I can. Like I said, it's pretty tricky. I used the 300 mcd blue LEDs from Radio Shack, but the 2700 might have been better. They'd be a little brighter, but they would also change the results of all the calculations, so you jsut can't switch them.

For people that don't want to go to Radio Shack, their LEDs are rated at 5 volts and 30 mA. I measured them to use 4 volts, and have about 27mA of current through each one. You also need wire, solder, and about an 80 ohm resistor that can handle 2 watts (I suppose four 20 ohm half-watt resistors would work too...)

anyway..i'll try to get the writeup done soon

It's up!

Ok, here's a link to the writeup I just did:

Hopefully, there are no mistakes and everything is clear. If you do attempt this, good luck!

It's all subjective. As for me, whichever color gives the best visibility and is easy on the eyes is the best color. The way I see it, what's the use to have cool looking controls if you can't see them well at night.
