Vinyl wrapping my custom GT-R boykit

Since I bought my bodykit I had to have it repainted two times due to stone chips from a lot of highway driving. I inquired about having a custom leather bra made but it was just too complicated and if it was possible to do it would cost alot. I had the bodyguy do couple coats of clear but it was no match for the rocks that got thrown by trucks.

So my next option was the clear vinyl wrap that I experimented on. Tried to get a quote from an installer but because it was a custom front bumper it would of cost around $350 so I was like hell nah. Bought the clear vinyl wrap for about $75 off of ebay and had my bro help me with the install. It took about 3 hours but it came out better than I thought. I had no experience so it wasn't perfect but after watching a few youtube clips I was satisfied with the outcome. Props to youtube.

Let me know what you allt think

Looks good. That wrap should help protect it from road damage over the years.

You should remove the GT-R badge IMO. The Maxima never has been and never will be a GT-R. Front bumper swap or not.

So I create a thread about DIY vinyl custom wrapping to show members how to prevent stone chips and you manage to pick out something that has nothing to do with the purpose of the thread, like seriously!!! I know that maxima's aren't GT-R's but it's my concept. I'll take off the bodykit and the GT-R logo just so you can be happy. OK?

LOL. Appreciate the comment man. I'm just that brave to attempt almost anything before I pay someone to do it. It could of came out really bad and I waste my money and time or it could go the exact opposite like it did.

It's not a coating bro, it's a vinyl. It wasn't and easy task and it's better if you have two persons. I bought it off of Ebay and it was just enough to cover the front bumper and have a little left over.

You should watch a few youtube clips and get some knowledge on how it works. It's very easy on flat surfaces but angles it's a pain in the rear. Mine isn't perfect but it's good enough for me. Now I have 3 coats of clear and the vinyl so my paint should last for a long time

Well according to the seller they last pretty long but the older versions is about 2-3 years depending on climate change, UV rays, and wear and tear. I seen a lot of cars vinyl wrap turning colour and cracking causing the car to look very unattractive.

The seller assured me that their product won't do that. I mean for $90 and the ***** to experiment saved me from repainting it ever year because I do 85km hwy driving a day. Won't stop the big rocks but it will protect the paint from the smaller ones

Nice job....If i ever get my front end repainted, then I'm putting some clear vinyl on the bumper in addition to the hood. My paint is chipped all to hell and stained by cicada guts as is.

Yeah man it will save your paint but it's not as easy as it looks. It took me and my bro about three hour but it was well worth it because now I can drive with a lil less panic evertime I hit a construction zone on the hwy.

Usually I'd have to keep well back behind to avoid the flying stones.
