1st off do you have a VE or VG? Is it auto or m/t? Have you ohmed out the MAF, tps and other sensors you bought? Have you done something as simple as check ohms of the coilpacks? Alot of times when this happens ppl go off on wild goose chases spending money & chasing their tails to circle back to find out that the coilpacks were the culprit. Your having the exact same thing happen to you thats happening to me. (Hard as hell trying to start from a dead stop in 1st. When you get it finally going after giving it a $hit load of gas it only wants to go up to 20mph no more) try the coil packs first.

Ok u don't have coilpacks. Have you check your distb? When were the plugs/wires last changed? Whats the condition of the distb cap? If you replaced the tps with a reputable replacement then the only other thing I could think of this being is either a MAF issue or a ignition timing (spark) issue. It wants to go but something is holding it back. Oh wait you got an autotragic. Nm everything else for right now. Does it idle fine? If so replace that tcu (transmission ctrl unit) and see what happens.

I wouldn't recommend jumping into a tcu at this point, but if you find you need one, I probably got one.

Give us some more info about idling, so it starts without throttle and idles fine? About 1k rpms when cold and drops to 800 after warmup?

When in park, can you rev the engine? Does it rev smoothly or stumble at all? Does it rev quickly or drag out till redline?

Anything you can give us will help. Even a video can do wonders.

Would this be a bad or loose ground issue?

had the same thing on my Supra, coil wasnt giving enough spark and the distributor cap was cracked and that fixed it. see how much spark youre getting, if youre getting weak spark thats at least a start

Although there may be more than on issue occurring here, and there is going to have to be a process of things to run through, I'm goin to throw out something very simple to start out.
I highly suggest you take a listen while the engine is running for any hissing sounds. What you are describing sounds like possibly a vacuum leak. The VG is highly susceptible to broken lines, and even a tiny leak will result in hard starts and power issues.

Start listening for a his and
Track it down. Inspect the lines running to the heater valve on the fire wall. Check those lines that run beneath your throttle body and the one beside tha IACV.

From there, you need to check spark, look at fuel pressure, etc.

We are assuming your maintenance is up to date as well, correct?

Have you checked to see what the fuel pressure is at on idle/throttle? I believe the VG block is 36psi on idle and 42psi on throttle. If you don't have a fuel pressure gauge, I believe Harbor Freight has them for a good price.

I started having the same problem with my auto VG yesterday. Only on warm-engine starts does it idle rouh and stuggle to accelerate. but if I push on the throttle for about 30sec, it'll clear up and run fine.
