Hi, My wife brought her maxima limping home on a wobbling right wheel which I later found had only two studs remaining on that front wheel. I replaced the studs on that side but I'm afraid she did more damage than lose lugnuts and studs. I'm not into the guessing game so I went and purchased new axles (both sides), tie-rods (inner and outer both sides), stabilizer links wheel bearings and seals, just about everything but the rack and pinion I'd say. I'm pretty good with tools and want to avoid the stealer-ship (had some horror stories with them that maybe I'll share in the general discussions forum) so I would like to rebuild this machine myself. I have a lot of tools including torque wrenches, pullers and metric sockets in both 1/2 and 3/8 drives but what I don't have is pics and how-tos' I would appreciate it greatly if one of you fine members could direct me with links to any and all suspension and steering how-tos this site has for this particular vehicle as the warden (my wife) is getting on my last nerve (Insert Danny Glover's line from Lethal Weapon here) and I need to get this project started quickly or move LOL

Step 1: Press the search button
Step 2: Press advanced search
Step 3: Using advanced search, search the 4th gen section using your keyword of choice, and change the "sort results by" to Relevancy.

are you referring to the dust shield behind the rotor? If so, I'll see what I can find

EDIT: item # 41151M in this picture in the link? I've always heard people refer to them as a dust shield, but Nissan lists it as a baffle plate

Hope your wallets empty because you would owe big time , Wife's car was purchased june of 98 and has about 78,000 miles on it which means the majority of the 14 years of ownership it sat which causes dry rot to major components but i'm sure you know that. Factor in the driving skillset of my dear old wife (Babe I did say dear) (she drove it over those concrete wheelstops in a parking lot once and tore off the heat shield) and I would say that everything needs replacing. (still trying to figure out the two out of five studs on the right front wheel episode but hey @Cashoit, you're right big time with the wife factor

it would have been a lot better of an idea to take the front wheels off, jack it up and really get under there with a light and look for ALL the damage.

because my man above me is right you certainly DID play a guessing game. there is very likely to be more/different damage than what you bought unless you did actually do your inspecting. its not like you bought all new suspension parts.
