OK Who's done this with neon? Pics please!

With the custom grill, who has secured one of those neon tubes (9"-12") along the very bottom opening slit (Directly underneath the front license plate) with a switch inside the car. This neon *should* light up behind both the bottom and along the 2 side slits of the front license with neon light. I am considering doing this, but was wondering if anyone has done it/ has pics to see if it's worth the $20 neon tube. Get what I'm saying as far as the idea goes? Also, blue and red are illegal I know, but if your driving with say green, could a cop pull you over? I'm new to this whole import scene, so please forgive me if some of these questions sound silly.
Thanks,
Rob

The idea is good. I've seen a single strip behind the grill but never in the bumper to emit a glow. Problem with the $20 strip is they never glow bright enough to do what you want. You might see it....but don't expect it to look glow like the under car neon kits with balast.

It sounded pretty cool to me...Who knows. I might just give it a try within the next few days and see...The only problem is finding green neon...All I seem to find is blue/red/purple. Anymore input?
Thanks,
Rob

EXACTLY! Looks great! It is illegal to have blue lights though correct? If the neon is not blue/red, can you still be issued a citation.
Thanks,
Rob

Well ... not exactly illegal, but frowned upon greatly. My friend got a ticket for those lights that night and hasn't put them back on since ... we're just waiting for the weather to get warmer to put in a switch.

I have a blue neon behind my grill and just got my blue under kit for christmas. Local police said blue was fine and not illegal. custommaxima.com has a pic of my car with the neon behind the grill. just go to the billet grill and click on past customers and you can see what it looks like. When i took the pic it wasn't very clear but you can get an idea of what it will look like. i got many compliments from people in my town. hope this helps

i dunno about other areas, but in my area (NY), the law says that regular civilian vehicles can only have headlights that are white, yellowish-white, or yellow, and nothing else. That would make any other color, other than white and/or yellow, illegal. All those other colors are reserved for specialty vehicles (like emergency, etc.). The rear of the car is the same story, except its white, yellow, and red.

Here in WA State I believe neon is legal as long as you are NOT moving, or on a public road - (you can show it off in your driveway, or a parking lot)

i have the neon kit for under the car in my car and on my grills. In my town in CT they do not really care if you have them on and are not breaking any other laws. IT just makes it easier to pull you over, gives them an excuse. However when i was in Meriden, CT i got pulled over for a suspected gang memeber. Apparently certian gains will turn on certian color neons to represent who their with. However police will pull you over in a heart beat for having a colored turn signal.
