Front end dilemma

Please help me. I have been having front end issues with my car since I bought it. Anytime I go over railroad tracks or manholes the front end slams like I have bad suspension. I took it to the mechanics and they said everything was good. But I have reason to believe otherwise. Also my front suspension sits higher than my rear. And I have been going through tires like crazy. Any and all help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

with a 13+ year old car...it's safe to assume you need a new suspension

Nope I haven't messed with suspension since I've gotten it. It's got 170k miles. You must be right. I had a feeling that was it. But reassurance was necessary. Thanks.

Slams usually indicates a failed strut.
