VQ30DE-K Swap Questions.

I just want to get a little more information and possibly some reassurance before I make my final decision. I want to swap out my VQ30DE with a DE-K. It's a 5-speed. What I would like to know is, do I only need the ECU from the car I get the DE-K from or can I just use my stock 4th gen ECU? Also, is there anything else I should be aware of before doing this and would it be easiest to just throw another VQ30DE in the beast?

Any information helps. You guys are awesome. <3

De-k is a different intake manifold for the vq30de,not a different engine. Also known as "00vi". The official 00vi thread is actually floating around on the first page of threads right now. Check it out

i believe you are incorrect; not only is the intake different, but the engine itself is slightly, but distinctly, different as well. anyhow, the op wants to replace his entire de engine with a dek engine (not just switch intakes).

Is the VQ35 gonna sit right in there like the DE-K would?

Read that link 5 times, you should have a grasp on the swap then. Also you reuse your own ecu, the 5th gen ecu won't work unless you get the entire wire harness for the nats stuff. It's not worth the hassle.

Or in the search box type in dek swap
