catalytic converter

catalytic converter

i want to buy a 03 max but the owner said that the catalytic converter does not work
should i buy it only 2,500 .....

The Main Cat or the Pre Cats, 2500 ill take it if it runs just Gut the Pre cats, and roll on or replace em, as long as not in Cali should be pretty cheap to replace if you want....

i would cut off the cats and just go straight pipe
less restriction and a little more power

Everyone is giving solutions without even knowing what the actual problem is. We need more info about what "the catalytic converters don't work" actually means.

Are there any codes? No one even knows what the mileage on the car is...

THIS.

There are three cats...the two pre-cats and the main cat. The original post said "the owner of the car says the catalytic converter doesn't work". How does he know?

for 2500 it could be a good deal, depending on mileage/condition/trouble codes.
