sorry to hear about your difficulties bro. definitely never heard of either of these failing before on the 7th gens, so the problem you have isn't a "Nissan problem" but rather seems unique to your car.
Wow! Something fishy here. This 7th gen has been out since June of 2008, around 200,000 have been built, and this is the first instance of head gasket or power steering hose trouble we have had posted here.
In fact, in 28 years of owning nothing but Maximas, two of which I drove over 200,000 miles, I have never had any problems with head gaskets or power steering hoses.
I sincerely hope this is not a case of a renegade dealer sabotaging a Maxima in order to generate work for his service shop. If not, then I would not be surprised to find this car was bought used, and that opens all kinds of possibilities.
I would get where I am going by golf cart before I would buy a used car. I went through that nightmare many times from around forty to sixty years ago, and faced the same mess with cars for my kids through the 1970s and 1980s. There is always a reason folks let go of their cars. Sometimes that reason is as simple as someone traded in for a newer car. But then sometimes the owner is dumping a problem he created and does not want to pay to fix.

I have a feeling this may be a 'USED' car that needs to have an 'AB' placed in front of the 'USED.'
When I bought my 09 and my 09 FX I found out the powertrain warranty covers hoses, because hoses are not wear and tear items they are meant to last 60-100k and the extended warranties covers them even further
yeah how do you know this is a troll? because he posted once and never came back. also doesnt help he joined in 09 has 1 post. this sounds like fun tho ima go register on some Honda forums and say stuff like "my new honda blew up, motor landed in my neighbors yard" and then never come back
