New 2012 Maxima price

I've been looking around and i just found an all new 2012 maxima s for around $26,000 and its in a silver color with cloth gray interior. considering that the msrp is $32,000 this seems like a good price. the other car that i'm also looking at is the new 2013 altima 3.5 sl which has the msrp of $30,000. do you guys think it would be wiser to go for the maxima over the altima?

There's a big long thread about why none of us would choose the '13 Altima over a 7th gen maxima.

A couple months ago I was considering the top trim '13 Altima as well. Truly, if you picked the Altima, you wouldn't be disappointed. But if you pick the maxima you will be extremely happy that you did, especially after you see Altima after Altima after Altima on the roads. I LOVE my car and am SO glad I picked the maxima.

By the way, my purchase was an '11 maxima SV with the premium pkg (double sunroof) and tech pkg (navigation), 15,000 miles, and I paid $28,500.

Personally, I think a year older and a few more miles for the decked out model is better than a year newer but the base trim. Up to you though. Just make sure you get the max.

thanks for the feedback, i really hate seeing everyone have the same car as me, especially since i have the accord right now. and the horsepower on the maxima looks really nice haha im only 17 right now, but its going to be a car that me and my dad will be sharing together. i really hope i get the max, wanted it instead of the accord back in 08, but the max wasn't released yet :/

Agree also. Get premium or sport package. Preowned will save you money than buying new. S package has no Bose or leather.

I definitely agree with everyone above; I was also checking out the new altima, but I had my eye on the Maxima for 3 or so years now and I am very glad I got it instead of any of my other options (altima, G37, maybe TL). I don't think I'd have been as happy with those as I am with my max. As far as pricing goes, I talked a really good deal for my '12 max with premium/tech packages. If you can do that, great, if not I'd get a yr used SV wit atleast premium package; if you gonna do it, might as well do it big right

I have NO problems with the max except I am a short guy and with my seat in the most comfortable position I have to lean to reach the screen controller **** :/ lol

I am coming up on 4 weeks of Maxima ownership.
I bought a CPO 2012 SV with Sports Package and Technology/Monitor for $29,000 with like 7000 miles on it back near the end of August.
That's more than 25% depreciation off MSRP, and if I were you, I'd be looking for one with as many options as possible. No point in getting Nissan's best sedan without going all the way. Even with the $5000 rebate they had at the time (for new), I came out better as the CPO gave me more warranty than I'd have if I bought it NEW.

Agree with the rest of the crowd. The two Altima & Maxima are so close in price when loaded it's a no brainer. Go for the Maxima.

I loved my 05 but the tanny had problems pretty much from the time I brought it and Nissan could never find out what was wrong. She ran strong inspite of the issue. I gave it up with 57K miles on it.

I did a lot of research on the new Max and test drove it a few times before I finally gave in. I like the CVT so far And the Crimson Black is the icing on the cake!!

I actually just had my dealer email me with a special offer for a 2012 Sport + Tech Packaged Maxima for $33,000 MSRP on it is a little of $41,000 so I'm kind of tempted to go for the deal

That's not that bad of a deal at all. I love the sport+tech package. What color will you get of you pull the trigger?

The rebates on the Maxima make it a no brainer over the Altima. 2013 Altima are not discounted much
