intake manifold gasket

Quick question for y'all. I was looking into getting the intake mani spacer kit, but I got an idea. If I were to use two upper intake manifold gaskets and sealed them up with some rtv sealant, would the added space be just about the same if not identical to the uim spacer?

Using two of those squishy gaskets is just asking for trouble.

And its not only the space that between the two aluminum pieces, the material used in between makes a big difference too.

The more RTV you use the more chance you have of developing leaks. It is counterintuitive but its true. Just a tiny bead. If a bunch oozes out, a little always does not a problem, you have added to much

Speaking about intake gaskets,

I put one on the UIM a few years ago. 1 year after, I can see it cracking on the outer parts that hang off. Is felpro going cheap?

Damn it. I literally just bought a felpro intake manifold gasket set an hour ago. Oh well. Gives me a year to order a proper set.

This is true. I was surprised to find this out when I did my valve covers. I just did my axles and the Nissan axle seals were 2 - 3 $ less each!
