It is not so important how much you pay for tires but your cost of driving per mile for the tires. You can determine this from the tread wear rating for the tire. The Goodyear GSA I believe have a rating of 280, The recent issue of consumer reports rated the Michelins and Continentals with trad wear rating of over 400 will good performance characteristics (traction, stopping in wet and dry condition, slalom speed, noise level, etc)

Sam's club will order for you tires for a deposit. You can also mail order tires from TireRack etc.

The continental dws will be my first set of replacement tires. I think they will be more than your budget though.
Look at tirerack as mentioned. There is a section on reviews, the dws ranks very highly with lots of miles worth of feedback. It also has a good wear rating.

I'm pretty cheap. That said (and confessed to), my Michelin Pilot Sport All Season were perhaps the best purchase I ever made. Obviously being all season, they are not on top for dry cornering, if that is your priority, but in terms of longevity, wow!

I actually sold a set with 50,000 miles to a guy who noticed me getting ready to carry them to the dumpster when I switched wheels.

This was on another car. My Max has the Rsa's for now.

Now that you've sort of established a budget, pick the basic type of tires that you're looking for (i.e. all-season, summer performance, touring, etc.) and choose from among the tires with the best performance in that category that are within your budget.

I'd rather see you stretch your budget a few $ per tire to get into clearly better tires than cheap out and settle for something not as good. Once or twice over the life of those tires you might be glad you did (that's my experience, anyway).

Things like treadwear and even estimated cost/mile should be secondary considerations (aka "tiebreakers" if your decision comes down to that).

The surveys and reviews on the Tire Rack site are as good a start as any. But be careful - there isn't much basis for opinion when somebody turns in a review and ratings with only a few miles on the tires. Look for detailed knowledgeable reviews by drivers claiming "spirited driving" and possibly autocross experience and Tire Rack's own tests. Those will be the ones you can put more trust in.

19's are expensive. i did my research using tirerack and a few other sites as well as talking to people and came the conclusion that the Hankook V12 Ventus are great summer tires. Cheapest price I found for them was around 720 for all 4 from onlinetires.com. thats a fairly competitive price when it comes to 19 inch tires too.
