Any other Racingline y-pipe videos or thoughts

Im thinking about ordering the Racingline Y-pipe tomorrow and I was just curious if anyone else have a video clip of the y-pipe on a stock maxima exhaust? Also any more reviews on the y-pipe besides the old thread that was about 2 years old? Just wanted some more input from people who have installed and how they like it, how the install was and etc....

I installed my y-pipe this weekend its on a 6thgen so my input for you will be just on the install. I had order the gasket kit with it which came with two crush gaskets and two paper for the front and a metal one for the rear. Well the design of the flange on the new pipe (up front) will not allow you to use the crush gaskets just the paper. Not sure if its the same for the 7th gen. Rear gasket could be used. Other than that the install was pretty easy, of course the car was up on a lift at my friends garage and used power tools which made it easy. I don't have a stock exhaust but the tone does sound a lot different than with just the my Greddy SE. Butt dyno approved although I did not get to open it up its a lot more responsive. In the pics below the two metal o-ring type gaskets were the ones that I could not use and the other pic shows the ground clearance.

(Stock exhaust system)
The racing line y-pipe I got might have been one of the only ones with this problem. Prior to install I put the y-pipe and other pipe side by side and took a pic. The racingline y-pipe was about 1" longer than the stock. I didnt think anything of it. I had it installed... The performance was just what they said it was going to be (very happy there)..

The problem came from i assume the y-pipe being longer than stock. The driver side exhaust tip sticks out further than the other (not too noticable at all, unless you're really are looking). The biggest most annoying problem came from the squeeking I assume it was from the longer pipe? I simply squirt heavy grease on the hangers and the squeeking stops for about 2 months, then I need to do it again. Little annoying but once every 2 months for the actuall little bit of performance i feel.. i think its worth it.

Yeah the exhaust system looks the exact same and so does the y-pipe. Im either going to install myself or take it to a shop and let them install it. I dont have much time these days and plus im using hands tools and probably just the car on ramps. I was already planning on going to Nissan and buying new gaskets and yes our car as well doesnt have any way to hold the crush ring gaskets so I will have to use paper gaskets.Hope they are of good quality. Thanks for the input!

i didnt notice a difference at all after putting the Y-pipe on. i know that having less cats when I tune though will yield better results, so hopefully that will pan out down the line.

wait no i did notice something, i noticed less money in my bank...

If you had it to do over again, would you buy the y-pipe, or just skip it?

I'm liking this thread. It's been on my list of future mods for a bit now, still can't make up my mind though. For $300, I could get some eibachs, or the stillen front lip. I'm thinking those will come first.

It's too late for me because I already went and ordered it a little earlier. It will go good when I pair it with a exhaust later down the line.

A word of warning. After droping your stock pipe apply some anti-seize lube to the exhaust manifold bolts before reinstalling the new pipe. You do not want to seize those threads!!

if you're planning on combining it with intake/exhaust and tuning later? yeah go for it. otherwise honestly i feel like it was a waste of money.
