hard braking = rotten egg smell????

Whenever I apply the brakes hard, I get a very very strong rotten egg smell, is this related to the pad or am I encountering some other problem. I have had this car checked for a rich fuel mix and it came up fine, I have a '99 auto. Thanks.

Rotten egg smell is usually related to catilitic converters. Are you romping on the gas before you brake hard???
