Would you buy these ebay quick struts?

For $289, it seems reasonable. At 183k every component suspension on my car, is done. So I figured this should hold me off until I get coilovers in the future.

So, would you guys do it ?

and you likely will but they should hold up 6 months, I just have no personal experience with them. Personally, I would get some quality struts instead because surely your springs have life left in them.

sounds good, thanks man.

I didn't really want to buy struts alone, because I don't have the time or will to deal with all the uncompressing, and I need new mounts, boots, isolators, the whole deal.

I'll post pictures of the install and everything

Don't get them because they won't last for very long.

even on ebay you can get kyb gr-2 for around that price, and its a way better product. but like the above says, short yes, longterm, just put the extra money and get something better. Save time & money in the longrun. IMHO

I have them on the rear lifted my sagging back to stock, firmer than stock. I am installing fronts Monday then I can judge perfomance. I will post full review after. BTW they have a lifetime warranty.

Can you post a link? I did not see any even close in price. If you are keeping stock suspension, 285.00 2 hour install and no messing around with strut mounts, springs and boots seems worth a look IMO.

My original stock rears are gone at 170K, so a quick easy $130 pair of eBay coilovers plus 2 hours work will get me for another 50K miles maybe and helped me pass the inspection, saved me $400 from letting Firestone put a who-knows-what a pair of replacement struts. So I would definitely do the eBay one at this mileage. So far so good.

I think he meant you can get just GR2 struts for about that price.

Gotcha. Seeing how my rear struts and springs were competely fragged and unsafe I feel pretty good about $130 fix. I just bought the car and 3k is my total budget for car and needed repairs. These struts were my only option.

Well, i just installed these bad boys, and boy was my suspension shot. All of the creaks, rattles, and especially clunks are gone now & the car handles pretty good. I did buy this suspension for only a few bucks more than what the ebay set would've cost me.

I'll post pics tomorrow.

Edit: The drop is nothing special, but what it lacks in drop it makes up for in handling/comfort

Yep, springs & mounts not included. Springs needed only if lowering your car.

All good, I have no intention of lowering or adding a sport suspension stock ride is fine, I have a 2012 Brembo GT 5.0 for that. For me I am not going to spend 6-800.00 on struts on a car I paid 2k for and is my winter ride. Although with some cheap upgrades a nice winter ride. I am installing the front today will post review, I know the rear made a huge difference. BTW they are manufactured by Unity.

If you are looking for about the lowest cost turnkey strut solution yes. If you want to lower your car, auto cross or best strut for performance no. I now have almost 1000 miles on the Unity struts that are in your link. They ride a tad stiff but good dampening and rebound. My rears springs and shocks were wasted and my front struts bottomed out on the smallest bump with 138k miles. I drive daily through DC and the car went from unsafe to pretty good with installing these.

So the $250.00 was a good choice for me. Only issue was the the brake line on front struts was a pita to properly get break ln esecured properly as the guide has overspray and needed filing to fit. Lastly AA warantees these struts for as long as you own the car and will pay for return shipping if they fail.

Well here's a picture of the setup. click the picture for a bigger shot

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Not the lowest of drops & this setup isn't all that comfortable on the NYC roads but it'll do. No more clunks, squeaks and rattles
