My shift **** is tearing pretty bad and I'm gonna need to replace it soon. The leather cover around the gear shift is also pretty bad (not sure where to buy that).

Not looking to spend a lot of money, but also don't want something flimsy.

So chime in, post pics or a link to what you bought. The fit/feel etc.

I would prefer an oem one because I do like the feel of it, but I'm open to suggestion.

I replaced mine (quite a while ago) with a Miata metal one;

Also, when removing the OEM shift ****, use a hair dryer. The heat will loosen up the glue nicely.

Seems to be a bug in the forum software. If you click my link above to open a new page, then take out the http://forums.maxima.org/!121737! at the front, the link works.

I'm still looking for a shift **** I like, but my shift boot has been a black velvet drawstring bag for a while. Cut out the bottom of the bag, stretched it over the old boot, installed the bottom ring and tied the gold string around the top. Classiness FTW!

I have a custom made M/T boot that already has a new wire sewn in if anybody wants it. Was made in the U.K. by a good upholsterer. I had to buy the the E-brake boot and the M/T boot as a pair so the shift boot I do not need as I have an A/T.

I have a Blox weighted shift ****. Works great, and it's threaded so it's a direct fit. I can't stand universal shift ***** because they always loosen up after a while, no matter how much you adjust those stupid little screws.

Looks great, but @$95 that's way over my budget. I couldn't see myself paying more than $30 on a shift ****.
