How Do I Loosen Or Remove This Part

I am trying to get to the opening in the engine for the thermostat. I don't have room for my hand(s). How do I loosen the below part.

Did you get the bolts out? If not, I imagine a 1/4" ratchet with a (10mm?) short socket would work. Once they're are out, get a long flathead screwdriver and gently tap it with a hammer in-between the head and thermostat housing.

If your question is, "do I have the bolts removed from the thermostat housing", the answer is yes. The problem that I am having is not having enough room for my hand to sand the end of the housing and the area around the engine, where the thermostat is to be installed. Thanks for your concern.

The part you want to remove is the timing belt cover. It is two piece (front and back) and stays in place unless you want to remove the timing belt and cam drive gears. Is that the thermostat housing there on the left, kind of pulled up out of the way?

Whoops, Discovered That I Was Looking In Wrong Place For Thermostat

Here is a photo of the thermostat cover. I removed it and found the old thermostat.

whelp, looks like I goofed up, and told you the wrong thing, earlier.
I really want to apologize for that. when I looked at the picture, it did appear to be correct.

(unrelated, but I would advise using one thread for the same, or similar issues. It helps to resolve issues, and keep all info congruent)
