Car Meet/Show sometime in March/April 2002

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone is interested or if you know people who are interested in displaying their hooked up/modified import cars sometime in March or April of 2002 at a UMass Boston parking lot. I plan to make this event more like a car show and a car meet combined in one event and the reason why I am doing this is because it's for a good cause. All the proceeds/donations will go to the Coalition for Asian Pacific American Youth. You can find out more about this non-profit organization at http://fly.to/capay/

I plan to fundraise the money by having the car owners who display/show their cars to donate a minimal amount of money (don't worry, it won't be that much), but you would have to tell me in advance that you are participating in the event. So there will definitely be a show car pre-registration before the event happens. Also, I will charge spectators/attendees a minimal donation fee too for attending and it won't cost that much money either. Most likely, I plan to advertise this event to college campuses, since I am a fellow college student organizing this event.

This would be a great opportunity for you to meet other car owners who are into the same things as you are, IMPORT CAR MODDING! I also plan to get other local car shops to see if they want to sell any products or advertise their business at this event. Sorry that there will strictly be no racing at this event, because I do not want to be liable for anything that could go wrong, especially on UMass Boston grounds. If you want to race, go meet up with some of these other import car owners who are into racing and arrange it someplace else. Finally, what I might plan on doing at this event is throw several car show contests (Best Nissan show car, etc.) as well as have some outdoor music, activities, and food, so it should be a good time for everyone.

Although this event has not been finalized yet, I still need to find out whether people are interested in participating in this kind of event. These are just ideas that I plan to implement once I get enough interest from people. If there is no interest, then I will not pursue any more planning on this event. Thanks for taking the time to read this and please let me know if there is any interest in you participating/volunteering in this kind of event. If not, then please ask your friends to see if they are interested. I’m sure you would be surprised on how many people you know that drive some nice modified rice rockets! Hehehe. Thank you again for your cooperation and please don’t hesitate to email me.

Sincerely,
Stephen Chaung
