Hi all. I purchased a 2012 SV Base/Bose/no NAV and sadly/foolishly/stupidly omitted the monitor package. So, naturally I want to upgrade that orange thing in the dash. I have been staring at the dash for some time now to try and figure out a way to upgrade w/o tearing everything out and starting over. I was hoping someone out there would let me know if the following idea is reasonable or even feasible.

I would like to leave the whole BOSE thing where it is and just disconnect it. I would like to move the orange HVAC display to the blank under the BOSE. Now the part that's unknown...

I would like to separate the screen from a new touch screen NAV/stereo unit and install the guts in the glove box and the screen where the original orange display was.

What I don't know, is how the displays are connected to the new touch screen NAV units. I was thinking that they probably need to be manufactured to be replaceable and thus connected directly to the guts via a plug or plugs or via short cables. I figured that if this is true, I should be able to extend the connections to work with my idea. Honestly though, I have no idea.
