Thinking of a new CAI...

Hey guys, I just though of sharing some sort of crazy Idea I had about a realy cooler-cold intake.

What I was thinking is having a even cooler air getting into the intake, how to do it, that's were the funny part start.

I would have to find a way of getting a 3"tube that come from inside the car, which would have been connected to the air conditionning output and redirect the really cool air into the CAI. Physically that can be done but I'm wondering if that would be significant. My friend and I are thinking of trying this soon, unless it is dangerous or counter indicated for any unknown reasons.

I know, I know, I smoke to much of that thing but it also gave me great idea in the past.

What do you think of that...

I'm ready to laugh.

Cheers

The operation of the AC(ie..it's power drain to operate) would probably negatate any possible power gains from the cai

Try again

Put a sealed bag of dry ice in your airbox.

I knew these issue would come...anyway here is my funny reply.

Building a small compressor in the back trunk powered by a small gaz engine like those use in a wead eater, the only think is we would have to make a whole in the trunk for the exhaust to go out, this would be a very small set-up, build with cheap parts that I laready have. hehehehehehe

what do you think of that...

Hey Y2KevSE, did you ever posted your best 0-100 and 1/4 mile time with your SC set-up ? I have to convince my wife that an S/C is mandatory to be part of the gang.

P.S: I'm in laughing mode today so the A/C cold air is just a joke.

Cheers

volume is the problem

your AC can't cool that much air as your intake needs to bake a large differenct, but who knows.

Just think on a hot day how long it takes your car to cool down, and that is with recirculating the air.

The intake sucks in a huge amount of air. Blowing it over an AC coil is not going to cool it that much. What you are designing is an intercooler run off the AC.

But there might be some use to that idea

For all you SC'ed max's out there... may be interesting to try a liquid cooled intercooler that runs off the AC juice (134 coolant)

Nope, haven't done any 0-100 or 1/4 mile runs yet. Get one and experience the rush first hand.

134 coolant?!?!?! Hmmmmmmmm......

This hole idea came after smoking a big one and drinking few beer. But anyhow sometimes good concept can start from a very stupid like idea. Anyway I hope you enjoyed this almost ridicules idea and at least if it can make you laugh then were ok.
