Ahh after 2 days, my custom trunk setup is DONE.. i really enjoyed it, my friend Dan and I started from scratch and this is what we got. Im really impressed and thrilled because i must say it came out perfect. We even installed a fan to cool and red LED's around to make it glow. It might not be the biggest setup, but im happy with what i got. Heres the pics..no the plexy isnt cracked.. the pic just came out that way..

Brandon,
My experience with amps, MTX included, is that that amp will shut down in 45 minutes or less on a hot day(most likely 10-20 minutes tops). I would get rid of or at least perforate the plexi. Or maybe cut some slits in it to allow it to vent.

Looks good, I agree with jamx, vent the plex or put a fan in there. MTX amps can run very hot and it might shut down on you
You can get a fan from Radio Shack for $15 and then just tap the remote turn on to a relay to turn on the fan when you turn on the system automaticaly. It will be worth your time in the long run

Nice Job Brandon....
Hey Brandon,
Nice job bud, I just have one comment, and one question. First off, the only thing I may have tried to do was maybe pull off that Q grill, and see if you coule throw a layer of the same carpet over that box too, then throw the grill back on. That way you have a perfect match of carpet all the way across. That's just me dude, it looks really cool. My question is this,,,,how do you have that plexi on,,,screws, glue, silicone??? can't see anything in the pics...Thanks...DMAN

oops.. forgot about this thread..
guys guys.. cmon, at least click the link! i did put a fan in there! i built it in to the top of the box that holds the amp so thers plenty of venilation. i even wrote it right in the thread!! We even installed a fan to cool and red LED's around to make it glow. hehe all guud, so anyways, the plexy is actually held in by itself, the surround for it is cut perfectly so that the carpet around it holds it in place.
At first i was thinking about carpeting over the sub box too, but there wasnt really a good way to do it, and if i cut out a hole just for the silver part int he wood the sub would be behind the wood and it wouldnt look flush.
Oh spare access is not bad, i didnt cut the wood underneath but i can still pull it up to access the tire no problem. Theres actually plenty of room left in the trunk. The wieght is not bad at all, maybe like 15 pounds of wood thats it. I secured it with an l bracket to the rear deck, and im goin to put an L bracket to the floor carpet too, but it really doesnt move around at all. even with my driving.
IM pretty happy with my one 12". A lot of people cant believe im only runing 1 12 with the amount of bass i get.
Anyways, im happy to answer any other questoins, if you wanan see how everythign was wired and all click that link!

Yeah, I read that but couldn't see any space around the edges of the amp. Is the back side of the amp exposed, for ventilation? And where does the fan vent? It doesn't help to circulate 150 degree air.
