Sputtering VG30e, but Tach Remains Steady

I just recently noticed a slight "sputtering" issues on my '91 SE. It sputters on idle as well as acceleration. Not a huge issue, but annoying. The thing is, the tachometer remains steady...it does not fluctuate with the sputtering.

Wouldn't a faulty fuel injector result in a fluttering tach?

Any ideas?

ignore the tach, it's not any more accurate than the fuel gauge lol....do all the standard tests...ohm the injectors, check the plugs and wires, yada yada.....

It would take a HUGE arhythmic sputter (ie spark cut or fuel cut, not just a rhythmic sputter from a failed fuel injector) to show up on the tach while. Especially when the car is moving, you have the weight of the rotating assembly AND the momentum of the entire vehicle keeping everything stable.. moreso on a manual than an automatic. I can see a MAF issue causing enough disruption to cause a tach-visible sputter.. just not an injector problem.
