2009 maxima sv theft recovery vehicle

hello and happy easter to everyone! here is the deal, I work at an auto dealership and we bought a 2009 maxima sv with a premium package , panoramic roof, paddle shifters, heated cooled seats and it has 18,400 miles on it... the paint and body are as flawless as it comes, as the interior look and smell brand new... the car was reported stolen in 10-22-2012 and recovered in 1-15-2013 and given a branded title saying total loss???? ive found no evidence of repair so I am assumiung it was just stolen and recovered after the insurance paid out the claim>>>>>> I can purchase this for 16,500, is this a good deal or what?? book is 22,500 .. and is auto insurance gona be a problem getting>? and I guess theres no more factory warranty cause of this... can I wash, clean this title by sending to another state then it will come back clean??? should I buy this car? I like it alot

You never know what happened during the joy ride.
I wouldn't ever get a car that had a known history like that, but that's just my opinion.
I have a friend that goes to auctions and that is all he gets and then fixes them if need: then flips them for a lot of money even with a salvage title.
He gets very few complaints from what I gather.
It's your decision.

this car is clean beyond clean, im gona put up on lift tomorrow to inspect.. no wheel rash or marks anywhere on car.. im thinking it was joy rode, reported stolen, recovered after insurance paid out then bank sold at auction, as it was a bank sale at manheim auto auction... carfax says no frame or unibody damage, so I thing it had to be labeled as rebuilt, theft title due to the events of what happened,,, is 16,500 a good price

Regardless of condition that salvage title going to negatively effect resale value. Some states make salvage titles go through an in depth inspection to register them

As far as I know changing states won't remove the salvage tilte or people would do it all the time

sounds like an insurance scam as the only way these car get stolen is by getting car jacked or towed. it has low miles if it was sitting doing nothing for too long than expect problems expect random failures.

Its doesnt have a regular ignition to pop. It's possible to steal it but most thieves wouldnt go through the trouble they would just steal a regular car.
